Select a file, folder or volume and right-click (or ctrl-click) with your mouse and select 'Scan With ProtectMac AntiVirus' from the contextual menu to scan any item directly from Finder.

Multiple, simultaneous scans can be started via Finder in this way, with each new scan appearing in a small semi-transparent window on the desktop.

Finder Desktop Scans can be cancelled, paused and resumed, and access to the files in the folder or volume being scanned can still occur while the scan is taking place - the file-access scanner will ensure anything not yet scanned is threat-free before allowing access.

Open the main ProtectMac AntiVirus application to see a summary of the scan details of any detected threats.

Additional Information
The option to scan an item on your desktop is also available via the Services menu.
How it works...
If no threats are detected then the progress display will fade out. However, if a threat is detected, a modal alert will be displayed foremost on the desktop, allowing you to open ProtectMac AntiVirus to see further details.
