Given the speed with which computer threats can spread these days over the internet it is important that you receive frequent updates to combat any new and malicious attack.
ProtectMac AntiVirus checks for updates daily by default, downloading incremental updates of new threat identities and product enhancements automatically and installing them in the background without any user intervention or the need to restart your Mac.
As soon as a new threat identity is downloaded, the Threat and Malware engine will start using it so that any file accessed from then on will be scanned with the new identity, ensuring that you stay on top of the latest computer threats.

How it works...
An update check is performed periodically, 24 hours from the last update check. If an update check is overdue because your computer has been asleep or shut down then ProtectMac will check whenever the computer is started.
